New Delhi: As reports about the Indian Army carrying out successful surgical strikes in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) on Wednesday night came out earlier in the day, some companies were quick to announce special discounts and offers.

Companies such as Burger Singh, a burger joint, announced a 20 percent discount. The promotion message said, “In light of the surgical strike by India defence forces on terrorist camps (PoK), we offer 20% off on all orders on burgersinghonline.com. Coupon code:fpak20.”

MobiKwik, online mobile recharge platform, offered 20 percent cashback.

Nevertheless, the companies soon withdrew these offers as social media slammed the same calling them “savage marketing” tactics.
