New Delhi: In order to create more inclusive work environment and promote gender diversity, Ericsson India has extended its paid maternity and paternity leaves for its employees.

As per the company's revised policy benefits to provide adequate support to employees to balance their role as parents with their work commitments, maternity benefits have been extended to 26 weeks of paid leave, while paternity leave has been doubled to 10 days of paid leave.


The company will also offer the same benefits in case of adoption if the child is less than a year old, a company release said.


"At Ericsson, we believe in creating an environment that is conducive to the personal and professional growth of all employees. By extending maternity benefits, we want to ensure that our women employees are more comfortable and motivated returning back to work from the maternity break," Sameer Khanna, VP and Head of Human Resource, Region India, Ericsson, said.


The company also carries out a Blue River Project initiative, wherein it invites leaders and achievers to share their thoughts with employees on breaking gender myths.
