New Delhi, July 10: Noted environmentalist Vandana Shiva has bagged the prestigious "Reading for the Environment" book prize for 2003, sponsored by the German Environment Foundation.
Tomorrow's Biodiversity, written by Shiva was selected for the coveted prize by a six-member jury, a German Environment Foundation release said here today.
Shiva's book is notable for its consistently intelligent argumentation which encourages new approaches to be taken for ideological problems, the jury said.
It also appreciates the fact that arguments have not been presented from the "Western" perspective, it said.
The prize, which was started in 1989, comes along with a cash award of 2,500 pounds.
The award ceremony will be held later this year, the release said. Bureau Report
