Bhopal, Nov 13: In an embarrassment for the ruling Congress in pollbound Madhya Pradesh, veteran leader and former Chief Minister Govind Narain Singh today resigned from the party accusing it of “degenerating and failing to serve people”.
“I resigned from the primary membership of Congress after a 66-year-long innings because the party is no more the same old Congress. It has snapped all links with democratic socialism and lost all its values and ideals,” the 84-year-old leader told reporters here.

Charging the Congress with playing “casteist” politics, Singh alleged that corruption has become acceptable to all in different walks of life. “Bhrashtachar ab shishtachar ban gaya hai,” he said, adding he had no plans to join any political party as “my innings in politics is over”. Bureau Report
