New Delhi: Beleaguered businessman Vijay Mallya on Monday put up his resignation as Rajya Sabha MP in response to the ethics panel which had unanimously recommended termination of his membership from the House.

However, in a twist of event and in a move that is seen as not to give the businessman an honourable exit from the House, the Chairman of RS Amid Hansari rejected his resignation on Tuesday even as the ethics panel of the House sought his expulsion.

But, taking a U-turn, the Upper House on Wednesday accepted his resignation.

Vijay Mallya's resignation from Rajya Sabha was accepted by Chairman Hamid Ansari, Deputy Chairman P J Kurien said.

Given below is a scanned resignation of the liquor baron, Vijay Mallya, which was given to Dr. Karan Singh, Chairman of the Committee of Ethics.
