Ranchi, June 12: Ved Prakash Marwah was today sworn-in as Jharkhand governor at a simple ceremony at the Raj Bhavan here. Chief Justice of Jharkhand Justice Balasubramaniam administered the oath of office and secrecy to marwah.

Former Jharkhand governor M Rama Jois left for Patna in the morning to take oath as Bihar governor.

Prior to his taking charge here, Marwah was the governor of Manipur and a former member of the national security advisory board.

Marwah, born on September 15, 1932 at Peshawar, now in Pakistan, had also served as advisor to the government of Jammu and Kashmir, special secretary, internal security in the ministry of home affairs, Director General of the National Security Guards, Commissioner of Police, Kolkata, joint secretary, national police commission and First Secretary, High Commission of India in London.
