IRCTC rule allowing only 6 train tickets per user in a month set to change?
To curb misuse, IRCTC announced a new rule in January on e-booking of tickets through IRCTC website.There are reports that the rule, which was not received well by the genuine users, is likely to change, and may redress some genuine grievances.

New Delhi: In an attempt to curb misuse, IRCTC anounced a new rule in January, and set a limit on booking of e-ticket and i-ticket through IRCTC website. As per the new rule an individual could book maximum of six tickets online in a month, with effect from February 15.
There are reports that the rule is likely to change, and may redress some genuine grievances.
After a huge protest against the IRCTC's rule on six tickets per user per month on social media, Rail Minister has sought a report from the Commercial department, which attends to the commercial working like selling tickets and booking goods through rendering services to passengers at stations and on board trains to dealing with compensation claims.
Till the time the Rail Minister takes any decision,, the rule will not be implemented.
The IRCTC had announced various checks for the online booking on its website like only two tickets can be booked by an individual using his or her user-id in a day for advance reservation booking from 8 AM to 10 AM.
Individuals were allowed to book only two tickets per user-id in a day for Tatkal booking from 10 AM to 12 noon.
There is only one booking in one user login session except for return/onward journey between 8 AM to 12 noon.
