New Delhi: Under criticism for long due to poor state of monitoring and evaluation of works carried out under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, the present government is planning to carry out the auditing work by installing an army of about 8,000 social auditors, as per a report published in the Economic Times.


The report further adds that Rural Development Ministry is planning to collaborate with the the Mumbai-based Tata Institute of Social Sciences to constitute a course work for a month training programme for incumbent and new batches of social auditors.
