Pondicherry, Mar 11: Dalit Panthers of India (DPI) leader Tirumavalavan today said that his party would not participate in the opposition parties' meeting convened by the DMK at Chennai tomorrow to discuss a common strategy to oppose the alleged misuse of Pota. He told a press conference here that he had doubt if the meeting would be of any help because the DMK, MDMK and PMK were continuing ties with the NDA as its partners and asked "as such would these parties be able to oppose the Pota?". He said the Pota as such should be scrapped and already the DPI had been holding several meetings and deliberations along with various non-political democratic units. A front called anti Pota front had also been set up. "We are not convinced that the DMK, MDMK and PMK would not oppose Pota by continuing to be partners of NDA", he said. Bureau Report
