Islamabad, Mar 21: Fire swept through a commercial building and damaged several shops near Islamabad today, but officials said no one was hurt. The midday blaze engulfed stores on the third floor of the Fazl-e-Rabi building in a crowded area of Raja Bazar in Rawalpindi, a city near Islamabad. Firefighters said an electrical short circuit appeared to be the cause. "We are trying to control the fire," firefighter Yaro Ali told the associated press. "About a dozen shops are burning, and we are trying to save other floors of the building," he said.
The fire was spreading to other shops on third floor, witnesses said. Bureau Report
