Pakistan, July 08: Pakistan captain Rashid Latif has apologised for raising the issue of match-fixing to the world game's governing body without consulting authorities at home. In a letter to the International Cricket Council (ICC), Latif warned that players are still being approached to hit certain targets within a game and called for a change in the rules. But the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) might yet take disciplinary action against the wicket-keeper, despite Latif admitting he should have consulted the PCB first. "[Latif] regretted his decision and said he would not do any such thing in future without prior clearance from the board. We have asked the ICC to explain if any procedures were violated. If the ICC says yes, then the matter would be referred to the PCB disciplinary committee." spokesman Samiul Hasan The ICC is likely to ask Latif to discuss his concerns, saying September's annual meeting of Test captains would be an "ideal forum".
