Gorakhpur, Sept 24: Two close relatives of former Uttar Pradesh Minister Amarmani Tripathi, arrested in the poetess Madhumita Shukla murder case, were stabbed to death in their sleep by unidentified assailants here, police said today.
Tripathi's aunt Kamala Devi and her husband Yashodanand Mishra were sleeping when unidentified assailants entered their house and fatally stabbed them last night, they said.
When their daughter Annu raised an alarm, the assailants escaped after locking her in a room, police said.
The motive behind the murder was yet to be ascertained and investigations were on, police said.
Kamala Devi was also sister of another former up minister Shyam Narayan Tewari.

Mishra was a retired workshop Superintendent of the Madan Mohan Malaviya engineering college in Gorakhpur.
