Mumbai: Tata Motors shares Monday rose 4 percent after the company reported a 11 percent rise in global sales in March.

The stock climbed 3.67 percent to settle at Rs 385.85 on BSE. During the day, it gained 4 percent to Rs 387.20.


On NSE, shares of the company went up 4 percent to end at Rs 386.65.


The company added Rs 3,453.25 crore in market valuation to Rs 1,10,914.25 crore.


In terms of volume, 5 lakh shares of the company changed hands at BSE and over 68 lakh shares were traded at NSE during the day.


Tata Motors today reported a 11 percent rise in global sales at 1,18,750 units in March, including that of Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) vehicles.


The company had sold 1,06,595 units in March 2015, Tata Motors said in a regulatory filing.


In the passenger vehicles category, global sales stood at 73,515 units last month as against 68,109 units in March 2015, up 8 percent.


Sales of luxury brand Jaguar Land Rover rose 22 percent to 64,579 units last month as compared to 52,736 units in March 2015.
