New Delhi, Dec 11: All preparations are in place for tomorrow`s by-elections to three Lok Sabha and five assembly constituencies.
By-elections will be held for Mehsana Lok Sabha constituency in Mehsana Lok Sabha Jharkhand and Nainital in Uttaranchal and five assembly seat-- Daporijo in Aruachal Pradesh, Khumtai in Assam, Bansur, Sagwara and Bali in Rajasthan.
The ruling Congress and BJP are locked in an intense tussle for the prestigious Nainital parliamentary byelections. In what is seen as a straight contest Mahendra Pal Singh (Congress) is facing a keen contest against Balraj Passi (BJP) although BSP`s Subhash Sarkar is also in the race.
A total of 11,75157 voters are eligible to exercise their franchise to decide the fate of seven candidates.
The seat was vacated by Uttaranchal chief minister N D Tiwari in August this year after being elected to the state assembly. Bureau Report
