New Delhi: For fitness freaks in India, Garmin India on Thursday launched a new activity tracker with wrist-based heart rate and smart notifications technology.

Sporting an elegant touchscreen, "vívosmart HR" activity tracker will be available on the e-commerce portal Amazon at an initial price of Rs.14,999.


The tracker features a large sunlight readable display which is always on.


In addition to 24/7 heart rate monitoring, the vívosmart HR counts floors climbed, calories burned and measures activity intensity.


When paired with a compatible smartphone, users can receive text, calls, email, calendar and social media alerts, control music and more.


"vivosmart HR is going to be a revolutionary product in the Indian Market especially for the audience who are actively seeking updates on their daily activity," said Ali Rizvi, national sales manager, Garmin India, in a statement.


The tracker`s sleek band is lightweight and comfortable for all-day wear. With up to seven-day battery life and a 50-metre water rating, users rarely have to remove the device.
