New Delhi, May 03: Twelve Congress members in the Lok Sabha, including AICC secretary Ramesh Chennithala and CPP general secretary Sonaram Chaudhary, are set to get elected to the executive of the Congress Parliamentary Party, election for which is scheduled for May 8. Only 12 nominations have been filed for as many posts in the CPP executive from the Lok Sabha, according to returning officer Ram Niwas Mirdha. Yesterday was the last date for filing nominations.
The other ten members are Rani Nara, Ram Raghunath Chaudhary, Manikrao Gavit, Shamsher Singh Dullo, K Basavan Gowda, Uttamrao Patil, Syeduzza Man, E M Sudarsana Natchippan, Charandas Mahant and R S Patil.
May 6 is the last date for withdrawal of papers, Mirdha said. There are six nominees from the Lok Sabha in the fray for two posts of CPP secretary from the house. They include incumbent Sonaram Chaudhary, Naresh Pugalia, Vilas Muttemwar, G S Basavraj, Jagmeet Singh Brar and Rameshwar Dudi.

There have been five nominations for one post of CPP secretary from the Rajya Sabha. They are Suresh Kalmadi, Prithviraj Chavhan, Subiramy Reddy, Khan Gufran Zaidi and Akhilesh Das, he said, adding for the lone post of treasurer, Kalmadi and incumbent Suresh Pugradia are the candidates. There are 11 nominations for the seven posts of CPP executive from the Rajya Sabha. They include Pagrodia, Chavhan Raju Parmar, Balkavi Bairagi, Prerna Kariappa and Maulana Obaidullah Khan Azmi, Mirdha said.
