New Delhi: Pokémon Go, a mobile game, has rocked the internet and rocketed to the top of Apple and Android app stores in record time.

The augmented reality game from Japan’s Nintendo, where players walk around real-life neighbourhoods to hunt down virtual cartoon characters on their smartphone screens, has more than 65 million users in the United States just seven days after launch. It's being speculated that the game will enter India, one of the largest gaming markets worldwide, very shortly.

But, before you find out more about it, out of curiosity, and try your hands at it, here are some points you must know about.

Hackers delight

Seeing the kind of popularity that this game has enjoyed within such a short span of time, no doubt, hackers must be keeping a close eye over it the world over. Still to be officially released globally, gamers are using the APK file of the game from unverified sources.

Privacy challenged

As per security firm TrendMicro some of the iPhone users who are playing the game have unknowingly given free access to their Google accounts. So, their important documents can be easily read.

Safety concerns

The gamers are required to continuously stare at their screens when playing the game in order to hunt for Pokémons. This means even while walking on busy streets you are needed to keep your eyes glued to the phone screen thus putting your safety in danger.
