Two Indians arrested in Nepal with illegal Indian currency
Kathmandu, Sept 13: Two Indian nationals were arrested at the international airport here for allegedly carrying illegal Indian currency amounting to over Rs 3.5 lakh, police said.

Twenty-six Rs 1,000 notes and 658 Rs 500 notes were confiscated from Sharadchandra Bhadra and Rajiv Shekhar Sahu, hailing from Orissa, a police official at the Tribhuvan International Airport said.
It is illegal to carry Indian currency of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 denominations in Nepal.
The two men were arrested at a security check just before boarding a Kolkata-bound Indian airlines flight. The currency notes were found in an envelope inside a handbag, police said.
Both were taken to Gaushala Police post and further investigation was being carried out, while the currency notes have been sent to Royal Nepal Academy for Science and technology for verification. Bureau Report
