New Delhi: US tech giant Microsoft Corporation on Monday announced it was acquiring professional social networking site LinkedIn at $196 per share in an all-cash transaction valued at $26.2 billion.


The deal has been billed as one of the biggest of such acquisitions in the social media space.


 


LinkedIn will, however, retain its distinct brand, culture and independence while Jeff Weiner will remain CEO of LinkedIn, reporting to Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft.
