If you have ever been duped or taken for a ride by eCommerce companies, this piece of news should sound sweet to your ears.

A youth from Vanasthalipuram in Hyderabad is said to duped leading e-commerce portal Flipkart of Rs 20 lakh over the last 20 months and how he did it is the interesting part of the story.

As per a report in The Times of India, the youth would order goods and products from Flipkart and return them upon delivery complaining that the products were of poor quality or not as ordered.

However, he never returned the real products. Instead, he would stuff the boxes with fake products, stick the model number and item code he received on the box to be returned.

The report in TOI said the youth had created various email IDs and ordered over 200 products in the name of mother, father, son, daughter and known people in the neighbourhood. He also paid Flipkart through various accounts.

And once the products were delivered, he would call up the service centre and inform them that the product received were of poor quality. Therefore, the money would be returned to the respective accounts once the products reached the Flipkart dealers.

With over 200 purchases on the last 20 months, the company claimed to have incurred a huge loss of about Rs 20 lakh, said the report.
