Bangalore, Nov 14: China would soon be inking an MoU with Karnataka state government for forging a tie-up on mapping out urban development programmes in an orderly manner, it was announced here today. A Chinese delegation led by Jiangsu province standing committee Vice Chairman Li Peioyou called on the Karnataka Urban Development Minister D K Shivakumar and exchanged notes on the rules and regulations.

Shivakumar later told reporters that the delegation evinced keen interest in adopting certain rules framed by Karnataka including earmarking space for parks and change of land use. He said the delegation extended an invitation to him to visit China.

The delegation was also looking for reputed schools in Karnataka for educating Chinese children.

Top officials of the urban development department and the city corporation were present during the discussions. Bureau Report
