New Delhi: If the state governments agree with the proposal of the centre, it is very likely that shopping malls, restaurants, theatres and local markets will soon be open round the clock, i.e. 24X7, 365 days a year.

As per a report in the Economic Times, the government has proposed the state governments to do away with mandatory rules of store closures and replace them with a model law that it is preparing which allows malls, restaurants and theatres to be open round the clock.

This would bring the online and offline shopping to a same level.

“We have begun discussions... the first draft of the new law is likely to be finalised in a month”, the ET quoted an official of the Ministry Labour.

In line with a move to improve the ease of doing business, this will also provide more jobs and create employment due to the need to employees round the clock.

Moreover, with this move, retailers will get more business while it will give consumers the flexibility to shop anytime of the day as per their convenience.
