RAIPUR: A CRPF constable was injured in an IED blast in Chhattisgarh's restive Sukma district while seven Naxals were apprehended in a different incident on Wednesday, a media report said.

Two country-made guns were also recovered from the arrested Naxals in Narayanpur, the ANI reported.


Meanwhile, the injured constable, a member of 208 CoBRA battalion, has been airlifted to a hospital for treatment.


The blast, triggered by an improvised explosive device, took place in Palodi area of Sukma.


The incident took place when the jawan along with a police team was carrying out an anti-Naxal operation in the area.


The incident comes just days after the Naxals shot dead the son of a contractor whom they had abducted from a rail construction site in the state's Kanker district.


The body of Ramesh Jain (38) was found onj Sunday morning in a forest near the Rekhabat village, Kanker Superintendent of Police K L Dhruv said.


Darbari Ram, the father of the deceased, was hired to cut trees for laying tracks as part of the Dallirajhra-Rowghat railway project.
