Nusli Wadia serves defamation notice to Tata Sons, demands immediate withdrawal of allegations
Tata Sons sought the removal of Nusli Wadia from the board of independent directors on the grounds that he was backing the ousted chairman Cyrus Mistry.

New Delhi: With Tata Sons seeking to remove him from the board of independent directors, Wadia group chairman Nusli Wadia has filed a defamation notice against the Tatas and sought an immediate withdrawal of allegations charged against him to the board members.
According to reports, Wadia served the defamation notice to Tata Sons through the company's lawyer.
Terming the allegations made by the Tata Sons to the board as "false, defamatory and libelous", Wadia also sought immediate withdrawal of the allegations.
Meanwhile, ANI reports that sources close to Tata sons have confirmed that yes they have received the notice and will respond appropriately.
Wadia has been on the board of directors of Tata Steel, Tata Chemicals and Tata Motors for over a decade.
However, following the removal of Cyrus Mistry as the chairman of Tata Sons and other premier entities of the company, Tata Sons also sought the removal of Wadia on the grounds that he was backing the ousted chairman of the company.
