BANGLADESH INNINGS 248 & 253/8; ENGLAND 293 & 240

Over 78 || Score  253/8 (Sabbir Rahman 59;  Taijul Islam 11)

An enthralling day of Test cricket. At the end of the day 4, Bangladesh were left needing 33 runs with two wickets remaining for a famous win.

Sabbir Rahman, on 59, was unbeaten and he will be the key man for Bangladesh on the final day.

For England Gareth Batty led the bowling attack with three wickets, with supports coming from Moeen Ali (2 wickets) and Stuart Broad (2).

OVER 50 | SCORE 179/5 (Rahim 22*, Rahman 25*)

TEA! A partnership between Rahim and Rahman must if Bangladesh to shift the balance of game in their favour. A wicket more here and England will be confident of clinching the match.

Shakib Al Hasan c Bairstow b Ali 24 (39b)

OVER 40 | SCORE 137/4 (Hasan 23*, Rahim 7*)

Responsibilities lie on Shakib Al Hasan's shoulders who has to lead from front if Bangladesh are to defeat England this match.

Mominul Haque lbw b Batty 27 (47b)

Mahmudullah lbw b Batty 17 (36b)

OVER 22 | SCORE 86/2 (Haque 19*, Mahmudullah 4*)

OVER 20 | SCORE 80/1 (Kayes 43*, Haque 18*)

Despite losing a wicket, Bangladesh up the temp to score 46 runs of the last 60 balls with Imrul Kayes racing towards a half-century.

OVER 10 | SCORE 35/1 (Kayes 19*, Haque 0*)

Just what England needed - a wicket inside the first 10 overs. Man in form, Moeen Ali strikes in the 10th over to remove Tamim Iqbal.

Patience will be the key if Bangladesh are to chase the 286-run target having lost the 1st wicket cheaply.

Tamim Iqbal c Ballance b Ali 9 (33b)

With two days of play remaining, Bangladesh look to chase a tricky total of 286 runs to beat England in 1st Test.

The visitors were hoping to cross the 250-run mark and give possibly give a 300-plus target to the hosts but they fell just short of it having being bowled out on 240.

Earlier on Day 3, Ben Stokes' 85 runs steered England to 228-8 in their second innings at stumps on the third day after Bangladeshi spinners reduced them to 62-5 at one stage.

On a pitch that offered spinners on both sides plenty of turn, Stokes appeared to have mastered the wicket with his feisty innings, giving England a sizable 273-run overall lead.
