The All-India Senior Selection Committee has picked India’s squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against South Africa. Shikhar Dhawan will lead the Men in Blue. The ODI series between India and South Africa will begin on October 6 with the first game set to be played at Ekana Sports City. Shocking news was that BCCI had no space for Mohammed Shami, who's a regular in the format for Team India.

Interestingly, there are many youngsters who performed brilliantly in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 with their respective franchises and have got the opportunity to show their worth in the Indian colours. Rahul Tripathi, who was called up for the Ireland T20I series will be keen to make an impact if he gets a chance. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batter Rajat Patidar is also handed his maiden international call-up for the Men in Blue. Sanju Samson will once again feature for the ODI squad but the shocking thing was that Shreyas Iyer has been given the responsibility as vice-captain instead of the Rajasthan Royals (RR) skipper.

Siraj, Deepak Chahar.


Deepak Chahar, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Kuldeep Yadav and many more are one of the few players who were sidelined from the squad earlier this year due to injuries or fitness issues. All eyes will be on Shubman Gill, who recently scored his maiden international century for India as the rumours are that the Men in Blue are preparing the youngster to open for India in the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup.
