Arshdeep Singh showed why selectors picked him in the T20 World Cup 2022 squad when he defended 20 off the last over with nerves of steel against Bangladesh in the T20 World Cup 2022 clash of Group 2. The over started with just 1 run by Taskin Ahmed. However, the second ball was connected well by Nurul Hasan who dispatched it for a maximum over deep mid-wicket boundary to bring it down to 13 required off 4. But from there, Arshdeep showed his nerves of steel. He bowled the perfect yorker to bowl a dot which was followed by a 2 runs.

Not to forget, after the rain break, Arshdeep returned to bowl a brilliant over, picking two wickets again. Of late, he has developed a habit of bowling overs where he strikes twice.

Bangladesh were cruising at one stage. They were 66/0 at the end of 7 overs when the rain started to pour down. Bangladesh and India players ran back to the dressing room. Bangladesh were ahead by 17 runs on DLS method at that time and they were the happier of the two teams. It appeared India's semi-finals road will face another block with an unexpected loss as it rained heavily for a while. But to Indian fans and cricketers' joy, it stopped raining and the covers came and the ground was ready in minutes for the match to resume.

DLS method was used, as per which, Bangladesh now required 151 off 16 overs. 85 off 54 balls. KL Rahul thn pulled off one of the best run outs of all time and there began the tumbling of wickets as India continued to make one blow after the other. In the end, they won by 5 runs.
