Kolkata: India opener Shikhar Dhawan has been ruled out of the third and final Test against New Zealand, the Board of Control for Cricket in India`s (BCCI) media manager said here on Monday.

The third Test starts from Saturday in Indore. India have already taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.


Dhawan, who picked up a knock on his left thumb from a Trent Boult delivery in the third over of India`s second innings on Sunday, has suffered a fracture and is advised at least 15 days` rest.


India won the second Test at the Eden Gardens by 178 runs to claim the top sport in the Test rankings.
