New Delhi: The 32nd match of 2017 IPL at Eden Gardens on Friday witnessed two Delhi Daredevils Amit Mishra and Sanju Samson involved in a farcical mixed-up which let off Kolkata Knight Riders' Robin Uthappa.

After the match, Samson lamented the dropped catch, saying the miss cost them the match. But the young Delhi opener telling only the half of the story.


What he forgot to tell was that how he became a victim of a stare down from Mishra.


Kagiso Rabada bowled the third ball of the sixth over to Uthappa, and the KKR batsman played a a hurried pull, only to produce a skier. But, Samson from mid-wicket and Mishra from short fine leg converge only let the ball fall safely, in between them. No calls from either of them, and the whole ordeal ended up both the players staring at each other.

Uthappa, who was batting at nine at the time, made the most of the comical fielding and smashed a 33-ball 59 as KKR won easily by seven wickets to stay at the top of the points table and inch closer to the playoffs.


It was Delhi's fourth defeat in as many games.
