The incident happened in the 18th over of RCB's innings when they needed 39 runs to win off just 15 balls.

Stuart Binny played a good looking shot off Shardul Thakur, and the ball looked all set to clear long-on, before Ben Stokes got his hands to it, and threw the ball inside the ropes as he fell on the other side of the boundary.

It was a commendable effort from the English all-rounder, who saved vital five runs for his team.

Pune went on to win the match by 27 runs. They are currently ranked sixth in the points table after two wins from five matches.

The tenth edition has already seen some of the best catches in the tournament history.

Interestingly, it is also one of those rare seasons where the teams have been dropping too many catches.
