New Delhi: Sri Lankan bowler Rangana Herath now has a new record against his name. Veteran bowler took a five-for against Zimbabwe on Tuesday and by doing so he became the 3rd bowler to take a fifer against all nine other Test playing nations.

The 38-year-old entered his name in the record books after taking the wicket of Carl Mumba. Previous other bowlers who had achieved this feat are — Sri Lankan legendary off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan and the premier South African fast bowler Dale Styen.


Slow left-arm orthodox bowler claimed a 5 wicket haul during the 2nd Test against Zimbabwe at Harare on Tuesday.



Herath bowled a very economical spell of 26 overs with 4 maidens and giving away 89 runs at 3.42 economy.


The off-spinner at 38 years of age is also the oldest player to lead a Test team for the first time since Somachandra de Silva in 1983 because of the calf injury to regular skipper Angelo Mathews.




Sri Lanka are leading the 2 match series 1-0, with the last match also in their favour.
