Sanju Samson faces action from KCA after `bat-smashing` incident
Samson, 22, plays for Kerala in Ranji Trophy but he came into limelight when he was first selected for Indian Premier League`s Rajasthan Royals
New Delhi: There was a time when Sanju Samson is considered as one of the most talked about players of recent time. The Kerala wicket-keeper batsman was hailed as the next MS Dhoni.
Samson, 22, plays for Kerala in Ranji Trophy but he came into limelight when he was first selected for Indian Premier League's Rajasthan Royals under the captaincy of veteran Indian batsman Rahul Dravid.
Sanju's 41-ball 63 against Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2013 confirmed him as one of the finds of the tournament. Dravid himself had emphasised more than once that Samson is one to watch out for.
Later the wicket-keeper batsman was selected for India-England series in 2014.
But as not all good things last forever, Sanju got dropped from Ranji side on charges of indiscipline earlier this month. It all started when Sanju, who's battling for his form for quite some time, didn't click in one of the Ranji matches and in frustration, he reportedly smashed his bat on the floor in Brabourne stadium dressing room.
Later, he left the stadium without informing the team management.
Things got worse as he failed to score runs in the next matches also, and there were rumors that he might be dropped from the team. And at the same time, his knee injury came up.
It's reported that he wanted to take a break and go to the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore for rehabilitation, but the Kerela Cricket Association(KCA) didn’t agree.
The KCA later asked him to face a four-member committee for ‘breaching the code of conduct.’
