New Delhi: Pakistani speedster Shoaib Akhtar, who is popularly known as the Rawalpindi Express, wants India and Pakistan to join hands with each other.

In an exclusive chat with Gaurav Kapur, the speedster said Pakistan had the potential to thrive along with 'elder' brother India.

Saddened by the current state of affairs back home, Shoaib also expressed how Pakistan as a nation hasn't been able to scale heights of development which it should have but believes now is the right time when the same can be rectified if Pakistan plays the role of younger brother and India an elder brother. By establishing such relations, they can start trade with China and indeed amongst themselves too.

Talking on the show 'Breakfast with Champions' and didn't shy away from snubbing the controversial topics.

Akhtar also took to Twitter to express his views on the recent spot-fixing scandal that hit Pakistan cricket, saying, "Match-fixing allegations in PSL extremely gutting but honestly I saw it coming. If proven, it shud b non-negotiable. Guilty shud b punished."

Match fixing scandal must b treated as national calamity. Investigation shud b done by an independent Govt. agency rather than ICC or PCB.

In the latest developments of the spot-fixing scandal, Pakistani cricketer Pakistan cricketer Nasir Jamshed was reportedly arrested and then released on bail by the British police on Tuesday.
