Watch: Steve Smith caught red-handed of seeking dressing room favour over DRS
The Australian skipper was declared out LBW off an Umesh Yadav delivery by umpire Nigel Llong.
New Delhi: The India-Australia series has often produced some of the most profound controversies in the history of cricket. But Steve Smith's subtle act of attempting to take help of the Aussie dressing room to confirm whether to go ahead and review his LBW decision or not.
The Australian skipper was declared out LBW off an Umesh Yadav delivery by umpire Llong. Smith, quickly went to his non-striking partner Peter Handscomb to seek his opinion on whether to take DRS or not, but considering the price of his wicket, he later was caught looking for a signal from the dressing room to confirm the same. Llong along with Indian captain Virat Kohli quickly intervened, with the former telling the batsman that he is not allowed to seek any sort of indication from an external source about DRS. By the time Smith had started heading back to pavilion, Kohli had started a verbal battle, and he was then calmed down by both on-field umpires present.
