New Delhi: Indian opener Rohit Sharma is widely regarded as one of the finest cricketers in limited-overs cricket. The Mumbaikar, whose timing is often hailed by cricket cognoscenti, is the only cricketer in the world to score two double centuries in ODIs.


Batting against Sri Lanka at his favourite Eden Grounds ground on November 13, 2014, Rohit created history as he slammed 264 runs, which became the highest individual score in limited-overs cricket.


Rohit came to open the innings and batted till the end. His innings was studded with 33 boundaries and nine sixes.

As a result of his sensational knock, India posted a mammoth 404-run total against the Lankans and won the match by 153 runs.


It was Rohit's second double ton in ODIs. Earlier, he had hit 209 runs against Australia at Bangalore in 2013.
