They carried posters of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with captions, 'Ek Hai Tiger'.

With the party set to form the government, the workers danced to the beat of drums, burst firecrackers and raised slogans hailing the Prime Minister.

BJP clearly riding on the 'Narendra Modi wave', fought back after a close contest with Rahul Gandhi led-Congress shortly after the counting of votes began for 182-seat Gujarat Legislative Assembly.

After initial hiccups, the ruling BJP easily crossed the halfway mark of 92 and has since maintained a comfortable lead over its arch-rival Congress.

With BJP likely to sweep Himachal Pradesh, all eyes are riveted on the next chief minister of the hill state.
