New Delhi: A dozen of people were injured after a lift malfunctioned and collapsed at a building in Delhi's Narela area on Thursday. According to people, at least 12 persons were injured in the accident after the lift came crashing down from the 13th floor of an under-construction building.

All the injured have been rushed to the hospital and are being given medical treatment. The police and rescue team are currently at the spot, carrying out necessary steps. 


According to reports, the police on reaching the spot found that wire of the lift, meant for taking construction material from ground floor to upper floors of the under-construction DDA building was broken, leading to the incident. 


One of the injured, identified as Sandesh, 35, sustained head injury, and was shifted to the Lok Nayak hospital while the others are being treated at SRHC Hospital. 


A case of causing injuries due to negligence has been registered against the contractor/construction company.
