New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay (IIT-B) witnessed participation from 305 recruiters offering a total of 1,114 jobs in the process of 2016-17 campus placement. The average gross salary offered is Rs. 11.41 lakhs per annum.

According to a press realease published by the IIT-Bombay, profiles offered include core engineering, research and development, consulting, analytics, software, etc.


"The initial part of the season was dominated by a variety of industry leaders from sectors like engineering and manufacturing, computer software and hardware, data analytics, management consulting, finance, banking and FMCG," read the release.


Intel emerged as the top recruiter offering 28 jobs, followed by Samsung R&D - 26 and Microsoft which offered 19 jobs. Other top recruiters include Airbus Group (6), Bain & Company (4), Boston Consulting Group (4), Google (5), Goldman Sachs (15), ONGC (8), Procter & Gamble (6), Texas Instruments (11), Tata Steel (9), Qualcomm (13).


International recruiters included Murata Group Japan (7), NEC Japan (6), Schlumberger Asia Services (7), etc. Companies from Japan, Taiwan and Singapore.


A total of 32 Research & Development organisations offered 118 positions this year. IIT Bombay observed an increase in organizations hiring fresh graduates in the R&D sector.


As many as 59 Pre-Placement Offers were made in the 2016-17 session including a total of 67 International Offers.


Nearly 1107 internship offers were made than 650 firms.


The Placement Season 2017-18 has commenced in July, 2017 and IIT Bombay, at present, is in the process of inviting companies for campus recruitment. 


Nearly 110 students have received Pre-Placement Offers as of September 13, 2017. The Interviews for Phase 1 of campus placements will commence on December 1, 2017.
