New Delhi, Sept 20: Life has been beautiful for Twinkle Khanna-Bhatia for the last three years. Ever since she married sweetheart Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia (better known as Akshay Kumar) in 2000, she’s been “on cloud nine”. Not that marriage and motherhood (her son Arav is a year old) has restricted her to the confines of home.
Twinkle still finds time to design beautiful homes (she’s an interior designer who won’t rattle off her client’s names in order to protect their privacy), looks after her lifestyle showroom, The White Windows, and has been endorsing Movado (a Swiss watch giant) for a year now.
“Motherhood makes you feel complete as a woman. Arav is the love of my life and I enjoy watching him grow. He comes first – every thing else can be juggled to suit him,” says Twinkle, in town recently to wax eloquent about the new Movado collection.
Twinkle has some Movados in her “personal collection” and admits that she is brand conscious. “I like looking good, so I pick up labels that flatter my personality. When I’m in New York, London, Dubai or Paris I browse through shops to my heart’s content. In India Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, Rocky S. and Shahab Durazi are designers I prefer. Now that I no longer act, I can wear the clothes I like.”
She has no regrets about giving up acting. “I’ve been doing films since I was 17. I was never serious about a career, for me it was a hobby,” she says.
