Srinagar, Oct 11: The Hurriyat Conference faction
led by Maulana Mohammad Abbas Ansari today urged upon India to
give up its "confrontrational attitude" towards the
neighbouring country and initiate measures for "composite and
result-oriented dialogue" to resolve the Kashmir issue.
"India should give up its confrontational attitude
towards the neighbouring country to pave the way for peaceful
dialogue process," senior executive member of Hurriyat
Conference and head of the Awami Action Committee Mirwaiz Moulvi
Umer Farooq said.
Addressing a party meeting to express solidarity with the
political detenues here, he said "if New Delhi is serious and
sincere about peace and security in the sub-continent in
general and Jammu and Kashmir in particular, it should
initiate measures for composite and result-oriented dialogue
among all the three concerned parties - India, Pakistan and
people of Kashmir, to resolve the Kashmir issue".
The resolution also demanded provision of all facilities
in accordance with international laws to the detenues
languishing in different jails.
