New Delhi, July 09: Eminent director and producer Prakash Jha is heading the 23-member jury set up to finalise the selection for both national film awards for 2002 and Indian Panorama-2003. Entries have already been invited for selection of both 50th national film awards for feature and non-feature film and best writing on cinema as also Indian panorama 2003 (feature and non-feature films).
The total number of feature film entries for 50th national film awards is 104, while it is 85 for Indian Panorama- 2003. For non-feature film, there are 74 entries for film awards and 57 for Indian panorama.
For best writing on cinema the number of books entered is 25 and there are 16 entries for film critics, according to an official release here today.
Other members of the jury are M M Alex, K S L Swamae, S Theodore Bhaskaran, Kiran Ghai, Mukesh Khanna, Biju Vishwanath, Manoj Tiwan, Shyama Prasad, Arun Kaul, Nasir Mahmood Quraishi, Saibal Chatterjee, Amitabh Prashar, Swapan Mullick, Sreelekha Mukherjee, Biplab Ray Chaudhuri, Nirad Mahapatra, Mrinal Kanti Das, Zoobi Amir, Raza Murad, Rauf Ahmed, Dinyar Contractor and Gautam Kaul.
The five-member for non-feature film category is headed by noted documentary film maker Rajiv Mehrotra while eminent film journalist Uday Tara Nair is heading the three-member jury for best writing on cinema.
