New Delhi, Oct 26: In the Limca book of records
for having directed 672 short films in 20 years, ten of them
in three hours flat, Jaswin Jassi is all set to telecast a
non-fiction serial "Pravasi: The Pride of India" on
Doordarshan from next month.
"It would start with 13 episodes on NRI'S in UK and
then I will move on to other European countries and the US",
he says.
The serial focuses on those who left with little from
India and not only made it big abroad but also repaid their
gratitude to their homeland, he says.
The idea struck him when he was making a documentary
for the Ministry of External Affairs on the Pravasi Bharatiya
Divas organised here this year.
Without looking for any sponsors, Jassi plunged head
and soul into it and visited London with his crew five times
for interaction with the likes of Joginder Sanger, owner of
Washington hotel, Kiran Billimoria, CEO of Cobra Beer, Lord
Raj Bagri and Lord Navneet Dholakia.
