Raipur, Oct 07: Opposition parties in Chhattisgarh today demanded Chief Minister Ajit Jogi's resignation after he was chargesheeted by CBI in a case of forgery and threatened to make it an election issue. "If Congress president Sonia Gandhi has any morals and responsibility towards this nation then she should immediately remove Jogi from the chief ministership," Union Mines Minister and Raipur MP Ramesh Bais told news agencies from New Delhi.

He said that people of Chhattisgarh will not tolerate a chief minister who indulged in 'forgery' and will remove him.

Jogi's arch rival and NCP state president Vidya Charan Shukla also demanded jogi's immediate resignation on moral grounds and threatened to make it an election issue.
Rejecting the resignation demand, PCC spokesman Shailesh Trivedi has termed filing of chargesheet as a political stunt by the BJP a day after election schedule was announced and "people of the state will give a befitting reply in the December poll."
