Jammu, June 29: Union Minister of State for Home Harin Pathak today asked Pakistan to respond positively to the peace initiative taken by India and immediately stop cross-border terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
"Whenever India tries to initiate the peace process, Pakistan always scuttles it and the Sunjwan military camp attack is an example of the same", Pathak told reporters after visiting the camp where 12 soldiers were killed and seven injured by terrorists yesterday.
Pathak, who also held a security level meeting at the camp, asked the neighbouring country to concentrate on development and eradication of poverty and backwardness of its people.
Pathak, who earlier chaired a high level official meeting on arrangements for the annual Amarnath yatra, said the present world order had shown that no nation can survive on terrorism.
He said elaborate security arrangements had been made at Jammu, Pahalgam, Amarnath and along the entire route of the yatra and additional paramilitary forces were being deployed for this purpose.
