Mumbai, Aug 28: Anti-corruption bureau today filed a supplementary chargesheet against 22 accused, including two former chairmen of Maharashtra Public Service Commission, in the multi-crore answer paper scam.
In a related development, former MPSC chairman S D Karnik urged for bail in Mumbai High Court. The petition will be heard by Justice Vijaya Tahilramani on September 03. He was earlier granted bail which was cancelled and he was taken into custody.
ACB informed the court it had collected fresh evidence against Karnik.
The supplementary chargesheet was filed in the court of special Judge P N Deshmukh where all the accused were present. They were further remanded to judicial custody till September 12.
The chargesheet dealt substantially with the charges levelled on Kishore Patil and Hussain Chabiwala, arrested on May 31 and August 08 last. Patil acted as middleman between former MPSC chairman P D Vani and others to allegedly accept bribes from candidates who appeared for 1999 test.

The other accused was a key maker supplying duplicate keys to the accused who entered MPSC office in the late hours and replaced original answer papers with duplicate ones, the court was told.
