Two of five-star hotel held for model`s death
Mumbai, July 12: Two staff members of a five-star hotel have been arrested on the charge of causing death by negligence of young and budding model Pritinder Kaur Negi on June 15 here.

hotel have been arrested on the charge of causing death by
negligence of young and budding model Pritinder Kaur Negi on
June 15 here.
Housekeeping executive of Oberoi hotels Ida Mendonca and
a room service boy Pundalik Lkas were arrested yesterday by
marine drive police. They were produced before a court which
released the accused on bail of Rs 6000 each.
Both of them have been charged under Section 304 a IPC
(causing death by negligence).
Police said, on the day of the accident, Lakas had left
the window of a room on the 25th floor open after cleaning it.
The room was supposed to have been supervised by Mendonca
after the cleaning work was over.
However, both of them were negligent in their duties as a result of which the window pane of the room came off and fell over the model who was in the swimming pool area. Negi was found dead by the poolside, police said.

A resident of suburban Versova, Negi had come to Mumbai
to pursue a career in modeling after studying in London.
Her family had earlier threatened to file a damage suit
against the hotel.
