New Delhi, July 10: After the recent brain-storming camps of BJP and Congress, key NDA partner Samata Party will begin a two-day meeting here from Sunday to review organisational matters and the current political situation in the country and also take a close look at the "difficulties" in running a coalition government. "Samata Party has faced the biggest and maximum number of difficulties in running a coalition. We will take a close look at them so that they can be ironed out and there is no problem in future," Samata Party spokesman Shiv Kumar told reporters ahead of the party's national executive on Sunday and National Council on Monday.
Asked what were the major difficulties the party had faced over the years, he declined to reveal them saying that it was a tough job keeping 20-odd parties under one roof.
At the two-day deliberation Samata Party will explore the possibility of forging understanding with non-BJP NDA constituents for the coming assembly elections in five states in case BJP does not (not) have any electoral tie up with it.
"We want to minimise split in NDA votes. If there is no (no) understanding with BJP, we will try to work out some arrangements with other NDA parties for the assembly elections in Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram," Kumar said.
He said Samata Party has already arrived at an understanding with Indian National Lok Dal and Akali Dal in Rajasthan and added that the party was busy making its preparations in other states going to polls.
The meeting would also review the party's preparations for the Lok Sabha elections next year, Kumar said.
