New Delhi, May 20: CPI today welcomed prime minister-designate Manmohan Singh's statement saying the issues raised by him should be reflected in the Common Minimum Programme (CMP). "His statements reflect the genuine concerns of the people. We hope these would also find place in the CMP," party national secretary D Raja told here.
He said Singh made it clear that profit-making public sector units would not be privatised. "Protection of PSUs is necessary for self-reliant economic development which was jeopardised by BJP", Raja said.
The CPI leader said the Singh's statements on all other issues like Indo-Pak relations and creation of employment opportunities were "quite positive".
