New Delhi, June 08: Sankaracharya of Kanchi Kamakoti Peeth Jayendra Saraswati today gave credit to former prime minister P V Narasimha Rao for installation of Ram Lalla idol in a makeshift temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya. "(Former prime minister) P V Narasimha Rao has done 'punya' (noble deed) by installing an idol (of Ram Lalla) in a makeshift temple. That credit goes to him only and not to anyone else," he said in the presence of Rao and Congress chief Sonia Gandhi at a function to mark 50 years of his 'peetarohana' (ascendency) to the high seat.

The pontiff said Ayodhya was not a place for dispute and even though outside forces fight, the locals did not want any discord.
