Melbourne, Dec 24: Indian captain Sourav Ganguly today said that his batting line-up holds the key in the Test series against Australia and the team was not unduly worried by the return of paceman Brett Lee, who has to prove himself as a bowling spearhead without Glenn McGrath.
Ganguly said the pressure during the third Test, starting here on Friday, would be on Lee, who may lose some of his impact in the absence of an injured McGrath.
"It must be remembered Lee bowled with McGrath doing his stuff from the other end. Suddenly he is the spearhead. The pressure will be on him to deliver," the Indian captain said.
Ganguly attributed India`s recent success on foreign soils to some solid batting and said it could play a big part in shaping the course of the series.
"Batting will be the key. If you look at why we did well in the first two Tests, as well as our success abroad -- in West Indies and England -- it`s been because we were able to put runs on the board," said Ganguly.
"How we do in the next two Tests depends on how we bat."
Ganguly also made a pertinent observation that in their quest for big scores, Sachin Tendulkar could be the man to fire in the next two games.
"I can`t remember Tendulkar going through a series without putting up a big score. Since the time I`ve played with him, I can`t remember one tour," he said.
